| Entry | Bn continued digging in same perimeter. Again mortared and shelled in late afternoon. Casualties - 1 O.R. (L/C Guille) killed. Major Savary and Lieut Franklin, Capt Hamilton (R.A.M.C.) and 12 O.Rs wounded (Pte Jones died of wounds in A.C.S. night 29/30). Capt Hamilton & all S.Bs showed great coolness & true devotion to duty both on 28 & 29 Dec, Sgt Jeffery carrying on after Capt Hamilton had been wounded. Reference to Appendice: None. |
