Entry On returning from BOGALE and SETSAN 7 pltn were sent out to continue investigating unrest in coastal area. They arrived at AMA (MR 4.80210) Sheet 86M/5 1" to 1 mile refers at1900hrs on the 14th Aug, W/T set has failed and consequently the plts cannot proceed. 1400hrs. JIMFORCE reports that 200 dacoits have attacked small villages in coastal area. A large number of evacuees are now sheltering at KYONKADUN. Dacoits are also active at SETSAN and 1 man has been killed at PETPE (625572) Sheet 85P/8 1" to 1 mile refers. 1800hrs. The Bn took over two guards from DLI No 1 Petrol Depot - HQ coy 1 NCO and 6 men. No 2 Petrol Depot - C coy 1 NCO and 6 men. The following gds were mounted for the night 15/16 Aug only and were found from the plts standing by to quell riots. HQ No 1 Area - additional 2 NCO's and 6 men WAS(B) Quarters CHEAP RD - 1 NCO and 2 men on each of the 3 bungalows.
