Location RANGOON, BURMA
Entry AFW 3008/0 for w/e 14 July 45 attached. 1030hrs. ML patrol reached Rangoon. Reported back to Bn. Copy of patrol report attached. 1100hrs. Conference for Coy Cdrs reference projected move to Delta area. INFORMATION Enemy : Delta area is clear of Japs. Own tps : 2 Coys COORG REGT at BASSEIN, otherwise no other tps in delta area. INTENTION To dispose 1/R Berks Regt over delta area in Company localities. METHOD A Coy to WAKEMA B Coy to MYAUNGMYA C Coy to PYAPON D Coy to MA-UBIN HQ Coy and Bn HQ's to MA-UBON. On 17 July 45 an ML patrol will leave Rangoon containing recce parties for B and A Coys. Patrol will visit MAUBIN, WAKEMA and MYAUNGMYA and recce billets etc in the last two villages. Patrol then returns. It is not known at present what strength can be transported by river craft at one time. Therefore Coys may go out independantly and parties a pl strong. ADMIN Supplies by craft from Rangoon every 10 days. Initialy 1 months reserve tinned rations will be taken. Rear party consisting of MT, PRI and 1 rep per Coy. INTERCOMM 1 x 22 set to A,C,D and Bn HQ. 1x 22 set spare. 1 x 76 set to B Coy. Slidex code, maplay code and Det ciphers to each Coy. Annexes 4 and 5.
