Entry | The Bn is taking over Internal Security duties in Rangoon. Certain guards have to be maintained. See appendix no 12. Bn is now disposed as follows, A and D Coys having moved in t oday from TAUKKYAN (5068) A, D and HQ Coys : BOUNDARY ROAD, RANGOON (523397) C Coy plus Battle Patrol : FYTCNE ROAD, RANGOON (496382) B Coy : INSEIN (470510) Brigade Message no 02030 reference B Coy taking over certain guards and duties at Insein received. Bn is on normal ration scale. Weather during the month has been hot and damp. During the latter part there have been heavy monsoon showers and electrical storms. Average posted strength of the Bn for May 1945 has been:- Officers : 30 (plus MO and Padre perm. attached). WO's : 8 C/SJTS : 6 SJTS : 26 Cpls : 62 Ptes : 670 Total 802 all ranks. Attached are maps covering the area of operations for the month. Appendix's 12, 13, 14 and 15. |
