Location INSEIN, BURMA
Entry C Coy, who are in Rangoon, have to take over NINE guards,which include GCS, Jap prisoner, jail, City Power House, and heaps of rotting rice. No accommodation is available for the guards, and the smell in and around most of the guards except some native shacks in the vicinity of the guarded area. These shacks are full of refuse, rotting grain, and, in many cases, human excreta. The Brigadier is seeing Lt General Slim (GOC in C 14th Army) today, to discuss these matters.
