Entry | The Bn has settled in, and is continuing to make themselves as comfortable as possible. Bn HQ guard has started, and Coy drill parades. 1100hrs. Coy Cdrs conference over domestic affairs. See appendix 4 attached containing skeleton notes of subjects discussed. 1200hrs. Two patrol reports received, and forwarded to Bde. Weather: Heavy showers for 40 minutes at about 1100 and 1700 hrs. Generally overcast. 1500hrs. To enforce the curfew for villagers, which lasts from 1800 to 0500hrs, a patrol tours the village in a jeep with a Bren gun and two automatic Stens, and a large black-board reading, in Burmese, the instructions : "It is curfew time. Go home and do NOT come out until dawn tomorrow". This has excellent results, and no villager has disobayed. It is being continued every night. Appendixes 4, 5 and 6. |
