Location ZIDAW, Burma
Entry 0630 hrs. Remainder of A & B called forward for emplaning. 0900 hrs. C,D HQ Coy and QM's stores called forward. 1200 hrs. Whole Bn is airborne. Troops fly in Dakotas with 23 men per plane, or Coy Arkhouses plus 6 men. QM stores in 4 Commandos with 3 men per plane. It is expected that one half the troops of the Bn plus QM stores will land at HATAZARI, and the remainder of the Bn at DEOZHARI. This, in fact, happened. From HATAZARI and DEOZHARI trains ran up to CHITTAGONG where the 2 portions of the Bn married up in one train to proceed to BANDEL (CALCUTTA AREA). At HATAZARI, LIEUT I. BURBRIDGE and 3 ors remained with other parties from the Bde units, to centralise all Bde stores and load them on to a baggage train. At CHITTAGONG LIEUT R. GARNE was detailed by Bde to remain with the Divisional Transit Echelon as a staff officer for the duration of the Divisions transit.
