Entry 1000 hrs. Brigadier orders one Coy to occupy high ground at 142530. Accordingly A Coy moves in to this area. Tac Bn HQ moving to C area. Main HQ to follow tomorrow. Dispositions are now:- A Coy : 142530. B Coy and HQ Coy: 124536. C Coy: 137534. D Coy: 138531. Enemy arty active all day - particularly in C Coy area where one Sgt was slightly wounded and 1 O.R. 1900 hrs. Patrol of 1 officer (LT. GARNE) and 6 ORs to TAMABIN. At MR 145527 a Jap outpost or standing patrol was found. Moving south the patrol lay up outside Tamabin and heard voices. Could not definitely say that they were Japs, but north from the village, on the tracks, many Jap footprints (divided large toe boots) were seen. Patrol, which was recce only, returned at first light 5 Mar 45. No enemy shelling nor patrol activity, during the night. Remarks. Wounded. 5348199 SGT. TAYLOR R. 5349593 PtE CONSTANTINO J.
