Entry | 0730 hrs. Patrol of 1 officer and 12 men to PYAWBWE (1352) to remain during DLI operations on ZALOKMA (1151). 0800 hrs. D Coy move from present area to high ground at 138531. Coy dispositions now as follows:- A Coy :- 2 pls at 124528. 1 pl and HQ at 123530. B Coy:- 124536. C Coy:- Pagoda area 137534. D Coy:- Ring contour 138531 HQ Coy and BHQ:- 124536. 1100 hrs. Patrol from C Coy (1 officer {LT. BOWLER} and 12 ORs) sent by the Divisional Commander to TAMABIN (1451), to clear up 6 Japs left by the tanks who were supporting the DLI attack on ZALOKMA. This patrol went into the WEST end of the village, and when circling to go into the EAST side were ambushed from 3 sides in the open. Tanks had to be sent out to extricate the patrol, which returned at 1700 hrs. Casualties: 1 OR killed. 1 OR missing believed killed, and 4 ORs wounded. During the night there was quite an amount of enemy shelling in A, B, and C Coy areas. All other inaccurate. No damage or casualties.
