Entry Consolidation of NYAUNGGYIN village area continues. (125530). 1300 hrs. Patrol of 1 officer (LT. HAZELL) and 12 ORs sent out to PYAWBWE village (1352). They report the village clear, and also state that Pagoda area at 137534 is clear of enemy. 1500 hrs. Brigadier decides that in view of the commanding nature of this latter area it should be held. C Coy is detailed to move up. Plan is for 1 platoon (LT. McAVOY) to go ahead and make sure the area is clear of enemy. He did this and reported "NES". The remainder of the Company then occupied the area. Area named FORT HENRY. Company dispositions are now:- A: 123530. C: 137534. D: 127531. B plus HQ plus BHQ: 124536. Quiet night, apart from sporadic enemy shelling which fell just outside the Bn area.
