Location NATKAYAING, Burma
Entry 0800 hrs. First party of 100 A/T (less 1 squadron) arrived to take over. They are taking over C Coy area at 245595. 0900 hrs. B and D Coys, plus HQ Coy less 2 platoon, left for NATKAYAING (245655). 1100 hrs. C and A Coys left. Take over complete. 1200 hrs. Whole Bn in NATKAYAING complete with kits, cookhouses and stores. These were ferried forward in 15 cwts with the addition of 1 x 3 tonner lent by Brigade. 1100 hrs. C.O. and I.O. attended coordination conference for Exercise JULIET. Bde Operation Order no 17 Operation JULIET attached. 1830 hrs. The Divisional Concert Party (THE CROSS KEYS) with guest artist FRANCES DAY played to the Bn, the 2 DLI, C Coy 2 MANCHESTERS. 50% of each unit were allowed to attend. The show was first class, and was particularly appreciated after an entertainment free period of nearly 3 weeks. MISS FRANCES DAY was most appreciated, particularly as she had to "hop" a mail plane to get here. Reference to Appendices: Appendix no 1. Regd for ops. Will be enclosed with March W D 1100 hrs. Company Commanders conference reference move of Bn to conc area at 0863. 1. Start point: Rd junc. 2. T.P.S.P.: 0330 hrs. 24 Feb 45. 3. Order of march: A, Tac HQ, B, C, Main HQ, D. 4. Coys move closed up - aircraft formation. 5. Halts: 15 mins in every hour. 6. Jungle ration and emergency ration to be carried in 1st large pack. 7. 1st packs, cookhouses,bed rolls and other stores to be ferried forward on Bn transport, starting at 0700 hrs 25 Feb 45. 8. I section and R.P.s to provide guides at road junctions en route. 9. Tea and havesack rations issued before moving off. H rations are for breakfast meal 25 Feb 45. 10. Estimated time of arrival at conc. area 0815 hrs 25 Feb 45.
