| Entry | 0830 hrs. C.O. and I.O. went with the Brigadier, and MAJOR WATERHOUSE (O.C. 2 DLI) to 5th Brigade HQ at LEGYI (1765) to look at the intended crossing place, when 5 Brigade cross the IRRAWADDY RIVER. The CO then visited his old regiment, the 7th WORCS REGT, who are in 5 Brigade HQ area. 1600 hrs. The Divisional Commander with the Brigadier visited the Bn. It has been decided that the 2 RECCE will make a diversionary attack on SHWEPISHIN ISLAND. 2000 hrs. Sounds of talking and wood cutting heard from EAST end of KYAUKTALON village. 1100 hrs. Enemy shelling into Bn area. 20 rounds were fired. One salvo of 5 fell in B Coy area, the rest NORTH of Bn HQ and approximately 200 yards away from it. No casualties. |
