Location RAIPUR, Burma
Entry 1000 hrs. The Brigadier and the 2i/c of C sqn 3rd CARBANIERS came to recce tank forming up places, and lines of approach for counter attack purposes. At the moment one half a squadron is available in the Brigade area for counter attack purposes. Hot baths for the Bn continued today. 2230 hrs. D Coy report that a patrol from the 1st R.W.F. have stumbled into their wire. Fortunately our troops help their fire. This contact patrol had been arranged this morning, but was cancelled almost at once by the C.O. via 6th Brigade HQ. They had passed the cancellation to 5th Bde HQ (under whose command the RWF are at present), but the cancellation was not passed to the RWF. During the day religious services were held as follows: 0930 hrs - H.Q. B and C Coys. Holy Communion. 1030 hrs - D and A Coys. Holy Communion. 1700 hrs - B ECHELON, MULES, BOWO, Evening prayer. 0800 hrs - Holy Mass for Roman Catholics. Rations have improved lately. Cigarettes on payment are very short. Cigarette and tabacco ration is up to scale.
