Entry | 1000 hrs. The Brigadier visited and has made the following alterations to our dispositions. A Coy: Area 227592 (as at present). B Coy: Area 241593 ( do ). C Coy: Area 245594 (moving from area 235593). D Coy: Area 228594 with one platoon at 235599. Standing patrols: 218592 and 235593. The Pl of 2 MANCH to remain as at present (1 sn with A Coy, 1 sn at 235599) Standing patrols and all forward platoons are now on the telephone, with the addition of wireless sets for the former. 1200 hrs. The A/Q from Division (Lt.Col EAGER) visited the C.O. to discuss A and Q points. We are anxious to secure an allotment of Jap shovels and picks which were captured by the Bn earlier in the present campaign. It is hoped that the A/Q can arrange this. 1745 hrs. 12 enemy shells (believed 105mm) fell in area of D Coy pl at 235599. One basha set on fire. No casualties. Shelling ceased at 1810 hrs. 1900 hrs. D Coy standing patrol at 218592 reported sounds of "jabbering" and driving in of stakes in area of 211579. Night quiet otherwise. Rations up to scale. |
