Entry | 0730 hrs. Advance Party of C.O., I.O., all Coy Cdrs, 22 set, left for NATKAYAING. 0745 hrs. The first lift of the Bn. left in transport. This consisted of A,C,D part of H.Q. Company. 0930 hrs. B Coy. left in transport. 1130 hrs. The whole Bn. had arrived, and had been disposed in a defensive perimeter round NATKAYAING village. The cooks had arrived with the main body and were able to prepare a tiffin meal. The 2i/c and Adjutant were the last to leave for the new location, and arrived with B Coy. The move was complicated by alterations (at the last minute) of the transport allotment of 27 x 3 tonners, for ferrying forward B Coy, and B ECHELON, 10 x 3 tonners were allotted, to return from carrying forward the main body. This number was reduced verbally at 1000 hrs to 2 only. Fortunately, however, the Staff Captain borrowed 6 x 3 tonners and this enabled most of B Coy and B echelon to come forward, and with the assistance of the 5 Bn. Dodge 15 cwt, the entire Bn plus B echelon arrived. 1415 hrs. Coy. Cdrs, CO, I.O. and S.O. went forward to YWATHIGI to recce the area. The take over from the ROYAL SCOTS is to be by Companies. Timings for arrival in the area were arranged between the two C.O.'s, whilst Coy Cdrs received their Coy areas. The two CO's also toured the Bn area. 2045 hrs. Appendix to Bde op.
