Location RAIPUR, Burma
Entry The rd was cleared by RAC and recce headed by the Cook's trucks of the Bn. At 1000 hrs the Bn moved off to a commanding feature above which overlooked MAOSONGSANG in the order B Coy, Tac HQ, A Coy, D Coy. During the climb a 3.7 shell landed short and wounded three men (it was subsequently proved that this unfortunate occurrence deterred the Jap Party moving towards the Bn line of advance. A certain amount of sniping on the track caused a break in the coln and by night B Coy, Tac HQ and one Sec Battle Patrol were in position on the ridge with arty OP while the remainder of the Bn were back in origional posns, having been unable to find an alternative route through the dense jungle. The pl of RWF rejoined their unit without mishap. Casualties - Capt F.A.Baker and Capt H.R.Cooke wounded. Reference to Appendices: AF's W 3008 / 3009 att as Appdcs "I" and "J"
