Regiment 1st Royal Berkshire
Location RAIPUR, Burma
Entry A quiet day spent digging wiring consolidating generally and cleaning up. The washing kit was brought forward and all ranks felt much better for a wash and a shave. It should be explained that owing to the steepness and height of F.S.D (and that we carried 48 hrs rations into the attack - from Remarks) the Bn went into the attack as lightly clad as possible. All washing kit was dumped. Further until today water supplies have NOT been good enough to allow shaving. Reference to Appendices: Appendices IV and V
