Entry At 0800 hrs 1440 was straffed by 8 TOMAHAWKS which was reported as very successful by the R.S. The R.S. and R.W.F. have withdrawn off 1440. The N Staffs of 36 Bde have come South and are now pushing up North in an effort to attack the enemy in the rear. There has been little enemy air activity. At 1900 hrs a report was received that there was an enemy force NORTH of the MAUNGDAW - BUTHIDAUNG ROAD having crossed the river by sampan and moved over the hills. The Bn is on VIGILENCE 2/3rds of Bn standing to and preparations begin for quick move. Throughout night the arty puts down a barrage on enemy positions and L of C.
