Entry | 1-7 April.The remainder of the Bn - B Coy, Bn HQ, Pioneers, Mortars (4 detachments). Carriers were retained in the area of INDIN for local defences and under direct orders of Col. HOPKINS. B Coy were on the 308 feature due East - Bn HQ and HQ Company area Knoll 512 048. B Coy remained on their feature without incident. The mortars and carriers were used in the assaults on INDIN when occupied by the enemy. The carriers also helped in escorting troops and vehicles along the beach when that area was evacuated. 7th April. Bn reorganised and ordered to take up defensive position facing East on the feature in 5105 and 5205 being part of the Bde defences of KYAUKPANDUYWANA. A, C and D Coys were given time to sort themselves out and then moved out to their new positions. They were all very tired but managed to complete the initial stages by Stand To , B Coy remained in origional positions but ordered to send out a Standing Patrol of 1 Off and 15 men to pl 803. Reported in position 1700 hrs. Odd stragglers continued to arrive back from the Ambush - many of whom had been wounded by MG bullets and then bayoneted - one pte soldier had 13 bayonet wounds but managed to return.
