Entry | 0525hrs. All patrols returned. Movement and lghts [lights] seen area house 450852. Houses at X Rds clear of en ("C" Coy report "but a fair number of mines in the area). Quiet day. Continued patrolling well fwd of FDLs produced NO contact with the en (except for 1 patrol from "D" Coy to examine woods to NORTH of DOTLINGEN), but many reports of mines ("R" and "T") half buried across tracks. "D" Coy patrol returned 0745 and reported en engaged in wood immediately NORTH of DOTLINGEN. Patrol killed 1en and wounded 1. Remainder ran away carrying bazooka. NO identifications obtained. 2100hrs. Cdns to pass through present Bn area morning 22 Apr along axis main road NEERSTEDT. Bde orders Bn to move to "fill in the gap" between 4 Wilts and 4 Som LI on right flank. |
