Entry | 0630hrs. All patrols returned. NO contact made with en but 2 m/cs and several tracked vehicles were heard moving NORTH-EAST in area 446835. 1800hrs. Recce patrol "D" Coy 4 Som LI reports mines ("R" and "T"42) from 461831 to 452838. Signs that mines are continued along road to NORTH. From Coy reports and from the civ and DP infn it seems likely that en have withdrawn to NEERSTEDT 4586. Smoke and movement were observed in area 465848 and in woods to WEST (465850). 1815hrs. Snipers operating with "A" and "C" Coys went nearly a mile fwd of Bn FDLs without meeting or seeing en. Area is clear as far NORTH as 442843 and 448841. 2130hrs. Bde orders that Coy 4 Som LI under comd to revert to comd 4 Som LI morning 19 Apr. Coy to be relieved by "A" Coy 4 Wilts. |
