Entry 0930hrs. Bn "O" Gp BREBEREN. Bn to move from Ass Area in BREBEREN at 1400. To cross start line-ROAD between SCHEIFENDAHL-8371 and STRAETEN-8469 at 1600hrs for attack on UETTERATH-8770. (Bn now under comd 129 Bde). 1400hrs. Bn column moves fwd in "KANGAROOS". 1 Tp 3 Sqn 4 Gren Gds moving in front of each Coy. 1535hrs. Bn in FUP 1 Tp Churchills in spt D Coy, strikes minefield on start line-all tanks in Tp damaged and unable to continue. COs carrier rptd ditched. 1605hrs. Leading Coy-A Coy-across Start Line-followed by B Coy. 1700hrs. A and B Coys entering UETTERATH. En opposition slight-soon silenced by tanks. 1713hrs. D Coy ask for 1/2hr repetition of fire plan on BERG-8870 and BAUMEN-8769. BERG C Coy objective. BAUMEN-D Coy objective. Arty fire brought down with great accuracy. 1718hrs. A Coy on objective. 1745hrs. B Coy on objective. C and D Coys move through 1801hrs. C and D Coys report on objectives. PW identified as from 7 Coy 343 GRs and 7 Coy 351 GRs. Very little en reaction. Total casualties in Bn:- 1 wounded. total PW taken :- approx 80.
