Entry 0100hrs. "B" Coy fighting patrol returns, No cas. Patrol approached to within 250x SOUTH of enemy occupied Ho at 75705173 and 200x from hedge running EAST from Ho. Diversion from 765518. Bren to fire from 756515, about 200x in front of patrol. Patrol engaged with grenades and small arms fire. Survivors of en withdrew, running. Patrol then struck WEST along line of hedge to Ho at 75705173. Ho surrounded by wire - 3 slits occupied - located inside wire. All engaged with Grenades (20) and SA fire. 77 Grens seen to land in each slit. En rifle fire quickly silenced. Detailed Sp. fire programme rptd very accurate. Occasional shelling during day. En movement reported by "I" OP in area 769573. 3in Mors engaged at 1600hrs scoring at least one direct hit on camouflages posn in this area. 2330hrs. Bn relieved by 4 DORSET and est in rest area at MALDEN 714518.
