| Entry | 0230hrs. C Coy recce patrol - Lt Over and 1 OR located 2 MGs 741498 and 741495. 0430hrs. B Coy fighting patrol to "beat up " enemy at 744509 or 744507 returned. Lt Phillips and 1 OR missing. Senior NCO of the patrol reported that Lt Phillips and 1 OR went fwd to recce above areas and did not return. Patrol task therefore not accomplished. 1610hrs. Sniper sec now had to its' credit in this area 4 kills - 5 possibles. 2115hrs. C Coy fighting patrol - Sjt Mackrell and 3 ORs to destroy MG rptd 740497, report target engaged results not observed - 3 other enemy MGs opened up after bren had fired 5 mags. Posns of these MGs located by patrol. |
