| Entry | During night 25/26 Aug 4 SOM LI recce fresh landing place near rly bn (439747) abd establish bn on other side of river. 5 WILTS also cross at different point and push fwd to high ground (453742). 1 WORCS cross river by damaged rd br (445740) and extends br head to high ground (454750). Own tp cross by road br during the day without any touble and relieve 5 WILTS on high gound (452742). No large opposition encountered on the whole front. Only MGs, snipers and 2 Light SP guns encountered but thick wooded country makes it difficult to clear en. |
