Entry Bn moved fwd at first light, passed through 2 DEVONS and proceeded along ridge supported by a sqn of INNISKILLING DRAGOONS. The ridge was only held by scattered groups who gave themselves up, though there was one Tiger tk reported on our right, but the threat did not materialise. Three quarters of the ridge was taken by 1700 hrs and the coys occupied psn facing NORTH and EAST. C coy were observed getting into posn and shortly afterwards were shelled heavily, CSM Webb being killed and Lt. C.J. Mills dying of wounds the following day. The MO Capt. P Binnington, RAMC was reported missing in the evening having gone out to look for a building for the RAP. His Jeep was found later, blown up by a mine. The driver was killed, but there was no trace of the MO.
