Entry | Night 15/16 Jul considerable en mortaring and shelling of bn area. Bn comd post received a direct hit. As a result, Capt. P.A. Boyd, Sig Offr, died of wounds and Capt. M.A. Chapell, Mortar Offr, was wounded. Sigmn. Clements manning WT set rear link to bde, was also wounded. Lt. Col. E.L. Luce also in the comd post and L/Cpl Jennings, manning bn No 18 WT set, were untouched. Capt. R.T. Prideaux, Adjt, asleep in CO's slit trench 20 yds away was also wounded duringthe night. More observation. Targets successfully engaged by 224 bty during the day. |
