| Entry | CO with 2IC Tank Regt carried out recce of routes for op 'JUPITER'. Two pls A coy supported by the third pl carried out a raid on LC DAUNS area which local Frenchmen had reported as held by the en. Object of the raid was to obtain an identification. The raid was successful and PW captured. A coy sustained casualties, amongst them Major D.P. Teichman who went back to look for a wounded man as his pls were withdrawing. It is thought that he was wounded by an MG fire and captured as no trace was found of him when the bn moved over the ground two days later. He was reported missing. Preparations for op 'JUPITER'. Shelling of the bn area. Several recces carried out in area GOURNAY and FONTAINE ETOUPEFOUR 9664. |
