| Entry | Orders received at 0200 hrs for Bde Tk Regt Attack. Tank Regt being the Scotts Greys. Attack from CHEAUX to MOUEN. 0930 hrs bn moved to Assembly area CHEAUX. Attack began 1130 hrs. Bn was in reserve and moved from Assembly Area at 1500 hrs. Posn taken up astride rd CAEN - VILLIER BOCAGE BY 1700 hrs. En mortar fire caused some casualties incl 1 killed from Med Sec - Pte. [Ptel.] Bailey. Bn's first experience of being under fire of German Multiple Mortar. |
