Entry 0635: Message from 13 Inf Bde that the Composite Bn is at 1/2 hrs notice from 0700 hrs and that the embarkation from LA PANNE is altered and fresh instructions will be issued 0720: Message from HQs 5 Div, giving details of Embarkation from DUNKIRK at pm today 0800: Lt-Col Moore sent for conference at Bde 0925: Lt-Col Moore returns and gives orders for different embarkation arrangements 1045: British Squadron over, flying low. Fair cloud, and many planes overhead 1200: Lt-Col Moore to Bde HQs 1400: Air combat between British and Enemy fighters overhead 1600: Enemy commence shelling ADINKERKE and surrounding area 1725: Warning order received sending Adv Party to Bde, and warning main body to move NOT before 2030 hrs 1735: Adv Party Major Walker and 1 NCO per coy deps for Bde 1825: Message from Bde that enemy across canal 1 mile EAST of where we entered this perimeter, and advancing WESTWARDS 1953: Orders from Bde brought by 2/Lt Clark, for moving to embark at DUNKIRK at 2027 hrs, warning order issued to coys 2027: Bn dep by march route for DUNKIRK, accompanied by 1 ration and 1 arms truck. After 1 1/2 hrs marching along FURNES - DUNKIRK road, part of Bn was met and ferried by RA Tpt, to the Div Dispersal point at MALO - LES - BAINS 2330: First part of Bn met by Major Walker at dispersal point, and guided to Ace Area on beach, near the end of the Mole 2300: Lt-Col Moore joined head of Bn, which moved along the Mole with other units of 5 Div.
