Entry 0130: Officers from 2 Innisks report to Lt-Col Moore, and receive orders for taking over of LOO Bridge from the French, who have withdrawn HOUTHEM 0340: Bn HQs and HQ coy deps by MT for HOUTHEM, where vehicles are destroyed and put out of action (NOT by burning). 0600: Marching personnel march in to the Perimeter (The DUNKERQUE Canal) via MOERES, and go into concealment in woods and copses, by ADINKERKE, SOUTH of the main FURNES, ADINKERKE road, and half a mile WEST of the village ADINKERKE 0730: All three rifle coys and rear party under Major Walker arrive in, having disengaged from the enemy without loss. Elements of 3, 5, 48 and 50 Divs seen in this part of the perimeter P.A.D precautions taken from enemy planes 1112: Enemy plane over and bombs neighbouring troops. Coys are dispersing in woods and Thickets, and digging slit trenches against AA and ground defence. Active orders received. Enemy planes over during afternoon and evening 1700: Lysander RAF plane flying over low 1730: Special order received from Div on the action on the YPRES - COMINES Canal 1600: Lt-Col Moore back from Bde with instructions for the formation of a composite Bn from the 13th Bde, to consist of Bn HQs, HQ Coy, A Coy - 2 WILTS, B & C Coy 2 Cameronians, D Coy 2 Innisks. Coy Comdrs given orders to this effect 2130: Major Walker arrives from HQ 5 Div, with provisional instructions for embarkation tomorrow before dawn, should the Bn NOT be ordered to join 17th Inf Bde for active operations, these instructions given to Coy comdrs, QM and MTO by the Adjt, with order of march A B Bn HQs, HQ Coy and D, and for the dumping of arms and guns if ordered 2200: Enemy planes over bombing.
