Entry Weather: Dull and cloudy : rain from 1930 hrs on 1000: Lt-Col Moore to 2 Seaforth HQs to arrange taking over of HALLUIN Gds for 23 - 29 Mar 1500: Bde Exercise on Occupation of Defensive Position by Night commenced 1515: Coys commenced concentrate on Assembly areas 1615: Bn completed concentration in assembly area. Lt-Col Moore issued orders to O Group in fwd area All Bn had hot meal in assembly areas. Pl etc comdrs on recce of area 1930: Bn began move fwd with 'A' Ech to take up posn: no lights shown owing to rain, tracks were very slippery and several vehicles ditched 2020: Bn HQ opens with W/T trucks at DELANNOY Fm. In touch with Bde by D/R and R/T. Bn Office and 'C' Coy lorry stuck in mud, tracks very bad. 2105: Brigadier Dempsey speaks Adjt on progress of occupation line to first coys 2202: Coys reported in position 2230: Reported Bde that Bn is in Posn 2302: Pl Comdr A Tk Pl reports - 2lt FINLAY, comd Pl in Bn area.
