| Entry | 0830. The 2 i/c and representatives from each Coy went to THANIAYO (0305) to make a detailed recce of the area for the boat and river crossing training, and allot Company areas. 1130. Coy. Cmdrs conference reference move to THANIAYO. This move has been temporarily postponed. 1800 hrs. The remainder of the Battalion went to see the ENSA show in the Divisional HQ area, which was shown last night. 1630 hrs. COs conference at Brigade HQ. Ammunition scales were discussed. Each C.O. to adhere to his own requirements. All CO's agreed that at least one extra 30 cwt truck be supplied to carry ammunition and other stores. At present the transport scale is so small that petrol is not saved, due to necessity for ferrying stores forward. C.O.'s also want a carrier for their own use, and 2 more 3" mortars (present scale :4) provided carriers for the extra two are supplied. |
