Location RAIPUR, Burma
Entry 0930 hrs. The C.O. and officers of the Bn (less one per Coy) attended a discussion in the Brigade area. Subject "River Crossings". Discussion led by Lt. Col J. Stocker, R.WF. This finished at 1100 hrs. Representatives from all other units in the Brigade, and Bde staff attended. 1430 hrs. C.O., 2 i/c and I.O. went to THANIAYO village (0305), which is to be the area for practise of river crossing. A recce of Company Areas was made. The villagers are friendly. 1830 hrs. 50% of the Bn, plus the C.O., 2 i/c & S.O. went to the Divisional HQ area to see an ENSA show, which included Forsythe, Seaman and Farrel and Cherry Lynd. This show is being repeated tomorrow night (26th). The troops enjoyed it. 2330 hrs. Unidentified plane flew over the Bn. area. Weather: fine, northerly wind. Rations up to scale. Remarks: Capt. J. Briscoe returned, having been in hospital, with wounds sustained on GARRISON HILL, KOHIMA on 29th APRIL 1944. Posted to (attached) C Coy.
