Location RAIPUR, Burma
Entry The armoured column moved at 0730 hrs with D Coy in carriers. Contact was again made at 0840 when leading tanks ran on to minefield 2 tanks had tracks blown off. D Coy moved up to cover clearing party and sniping and L.M.G fire encountered D Coy trying to locate at 0850 hrs. The marching troops caught column up at 0920 hrs. C Coy immediately moved right off road to make a detour cutting road behind Japs. At 0955 hrs L.M.G was flushed but not captured. B Coy moved up to relieve 1 Pl of D Coy on right of road which rejoined D Coy leaving, D Coy left B Coy right. At 1210 C Coy patrolling to MADAINGYIN cleared the road and remainder of Bn moved up and harboured for the night. The C.O had a conference at 1700 hrs. Here we dug in and spent a quiet night. The R.W.F passed through to clear road 1 mile beyond KADUMA. Reference to Appendices: See appx dated 29th 0.2924
