Entry | D Coy moved off at 0730 hrs and established themselves on pimple feature supported by tank fire and achieved objective with no casualties by 1330 hrs. A Coy supported by mortar fire from Gordon Highlanders moved round left of road and were established at a point North of the road and 500 yds from it by 1600 hrs. Both to remain for night. B Coy passed through D Coy at 1540 hrs to clear slopes down to road. Stray mortar believed to be from 4/10 Gurkas killed 1 B.O.R. and wounded 4, enemy casualties 2 definitely killed 3 probables. A party of 30 were seen moving between D Coy and 4/10 GR maybe GR patrol. Lt Col J.W. Brierlly of the Worcester Reg assumed command of the Bn this evening. At 1100 hrs B Patrol entered Bn Box. Remarks: Lt Taylor R.V. wounded and evacuated. |
