Regiment | 1st Royal Berkshire |
---|---|
Location | RAIPUR, Burma |
Entry | B and D Coys taking all large packs were ferried to SHWEGYIN by D.U.W.K.S. The remainder of the Bn moved by march route at 1200 hrs arriving at MUTAIK staging area at 1615. It was a very tiring march, the weather was hot, the road very dusty the traffic jam so bad that after the 1st hour's march the Bn had caught up with the transport who had left 2 1/4 hrs previously. Bivouacs were pitched and No 1 & 2 packs drawn, a hot meal served, and the Bn bedded down. A party of men returning from leave rejoined the Bn. Cpl Minett was repatriated to the UK on compassionate grounds. |
