| Entry | After reveille at 0545 final packing up was completed and the advance column moved off at 0737 under Capt (QM) Kitney. The head of the column crossed the start point at 0754 and passed Bde S.P. at 0800. The convoy was all in at MS 80 1/2 by 1130 hrs. Tiffin meal had been prepared by the cooks and was issued at 1200 hrs. The camp site was well laid out and every help was given to the Bn. The C.O. held a conference at 1300 hrs to give out detail for the days' move. QM transport moved off at 1615 hrs and the head of the column (marching) moved out at 1800 hrs arriving at Staging Camp 2 THITCHAULK at 2325 hrs distance being 15 3/4 miles. Camp area was very cramped owing to the fact that the RWF was still in the area. All troops had a cup of tea and then having erected mosquito nets bedded down. |
