Entry In trenches near BOIS GRENIER. The Battalion was relieved by the 2nd Lincoln Regt about 10.30pm, and proceeded to Brigade Reserve billets near FLEURBAIX. Captain N.B. Challenor killed when observing with telescope and buried at 4pm at Battalion Headquarters. Lieut C.W. Ballye wounded by same bullet (at duty). 2nd Lieuts H.F.R. Merrick and M. H. Hissey joined the Battalion. During this tour in the trenches and the previous one sniping was done with two rifles with telescopic sights and telescopes for spotting.
