| Entry | Heavy rifle and shell fire about 7.30am to left of our line. At 8am Battn ordered to be ready to move at a moments notice. At 9.15am ordered to move. Head of leading company to halt at road to Bde HQ 50 paces between platoons. As everything quietened down, we returned to billets at 10.15am, ready to move if required. Enemy had attacked Givenchy (1st Div) on our right, and made a demonstration on our left. Lieut Carr arrived with 11th reinforcement. Strength 50. |
