Entry At 1 AM a patrol was sent forward to the Railway and found that the enemy were holding posts in R7b and R8 a with machine guns. At 9.30 AM B Coy were ordered to put posts on the Railway line as the 3rd Division were reported to be holding BELLEVUE FARM in R15 b. By 12 noon the posts were established and in touch on both flanks and later they were pushed forward near RUESNES to the River in R120, A patrol of A Coy going as far as VILLERS POL without being fired on by machine guns or Rifles. By 6 PM a line of posts was established on the Road in R2 b and the remainder of A and B Coys moved forward E of the railway: C and D Coys moving forward to the Road in R7 a and b. Two platoons of 1/KRRC in Q24 a were placed at the disposal of the Battn. Hostile artillery was active throughout the day and the area R7 and R8 was heavily shelled at intervals.
