Entry Fine day. Enemy shelled vicinity of HQ with about 60 105mm shell mostly instantaneous fuze - no damage - A platoon of B company under 2/Lieut MURRAY having completed their reconnaissance encountered a large enemy patrol about 20 - 25, when near our line - Enemy patrol at once threw a shower of bombs - wounding 2/Lieut Murray and 2 ORanks - Our patrol at once opened rapid fire and threw several bombs - enemy fled. Ground was searched but no identification was obtained - A later patrol discovered a bosch killed about 7 to 10 days previously. Shoulder strap marked 7, cap and oddments were brought in.
