Entry Heavy rain fell during night but the day was fairly fine tho' stormy and unsettled. The Bde Composite Battn remained in bivouac on outskirts of ENGELBELMER. The village was shelled intermittently all day. Major R. J. BRETT (2/Oxford & Bucks LI) was appointed to temporary command of the Battn, and during the afternoon established Battn HQ at ENGELBELMER. The Composite Battn pending relief of the Divn was divided into 2 units - CERT Battn (1/R.BERKS) under command of Major Brett and CIN Battn (23/RF and 1/KRRC) under command of Lt Col Winter D.S.O M.C. During the night LEALVILLERS was shelled with HV and bombed by enemy aircraft. Casualties during the month of MARCH OFFICERS KILLED 2 WOUNDED 16 MISSING - OR 23 439 62 EFFECTIVE STRENGTH 28 OFFICERS 720 O.R RATION STRENGTH 21 OFFICERS 548 O.R NOTE.
