War Diary

1918-03-27
Regiment 1st Royal Berkshire
Location France, MAILLY-MAILLET & FORCEVILLE
Entry The morning was spent in cleaning up and resting, and some reorganization was attempted. In the afternoon the Battn moved back to billets at FORCEVILLE. Here the men had a good nights rest under cover for the first time since leaving MANANCOURT on the 23rd instant. The 200 reinforcements with 2/Lieuts SPENCER, BUSH, REYNOLDS AND DURMER had joined us at MAILLY-MAILLET and, in spite of casualties, our numbers were still fairly useful though a thorough reorganization was necessary before we could be a useful fighting unit again.
