Regiment 1st Royal Berkshire
Location France, METZ
Entry METZ escaped its usual night bombardment and the enemy utilized his long range guns to pour an enormous number of gas shells into HAVRINCOURT WOOD at 2 am - the bombardment lasting nearly an hour. Companies were inspected by the Commanding Officer. Specialist training commenced. Both our own and enemy artillery displayed unwonted activity both by day and night. Working party found as on previous day.
