Location France, Front Line LA VACQUERIE
Entry Colder. Counter battery work by artillery on both sides. The Battn was relieved by 2/H.L.I. (Bde O 212 and Bn O 163 attached). Relief completed 9 pm. Casualties 1 OR accidentally injured - run over by a limber. The Battn was fortunate in getting away from the line without more casualties. The incoming unit made free use of electric torches when approaching the line, and the enemy scenting a relief, bombarded all roads and approaches with 5.9". Entrain and detraining arrangements were good and caused no delay and the last company was in billets at MANANCOURT by 2 am. Work report also a letter from the Brigadier, written on his return to the Brigade attached.
