| Entry | Weather hot. Day quiet. At 9.10pm we released smoke from our front line and put down a rifle grenade barrage on the German front line, in order to draw enemy fire as a raid was taking place on our right at 9.15pm. The enemy sent up a large number of SOS signals and opened a heavy artillery, trench mortar and MG fire. Casualties 3 other ranks wounded. |
