On 28 Jan 1846, India, Loodheana. 62nd and 80th Detachments, protecting two 8 inch howizters, marched for Alliwal to face Sikhs entrenched on the Sutledge. At Alliwal at 9a.m.. enemy opened fire. Following short action, enemy retreated over river with severe losses - including 48 guns. 62nd lost two men wounded, one of whom died
On 28 Jan 1846, India, Nialke. Commander in Chief's report refutes allegations made that 62nd Regiment panicked at Ferozeshah, influencing Native Regiments on flanks, instead commending the Regiment's conduct
On 10 Feb 1846, India, Rhodawallah. 62nd occupied ground as ordered. Battle of Sobraon commenced. About 7p.m British artillery opened fire on Sikh positions, after about four hours infantry assault takes Sikh positions and 68 guns.
62nd losses:- one Officer wounded and 45 Other Ranks killed or wounded
On 12 Feb 1846, India, Khoondra Ghat. Regiment crossed the River Sutlej here, marched for Kussoor on 13 February and marched with Commander in Chief's forces to Lahore on 15 February
On 23 Mar 1846, India, Lahore. Regiment marched as part of Right Division under Lieutenant-Colonel Ashburnham via Lulleeanee and Nuggar, crossing the Sutlej River on 26 March and arriving at Ferozepore on 27 March
On 5 Aug 1846, New Zealand, Horokiwi. Operations against principal leader of insurrections, Rangaharta. One Officer and one man killed, five men wounded.
