On 21 Dec 1845, India, Ferozeshah. Ferozepore and Loodianah/Umballa forces combine and take up position against Sikh forces well entrenched and supported by heavy artillery. 62nd (with 12th Native Infantry On right and 14th in reserve) ordered to attack. Seven Officers and 97 Other Ranks killed, 184 wounded. 62nd became isolated from 12th Native Infantry and 14th. Being unable to advance further through exhaustion and Sikh fire. The Regiment retired through 9th Regiment, formed in reserve and bivouaced for the night
On 22 Dec 1845, India, Ferozeshah. 62nd advanced in support of Army against Sikh forces, capturing artillery, baggage and stores, finally occupying and holding the village of Ferozeshah when the enemy retired
On 20 Jan 1846, India, Ferozepore. Regiment received orders to go to Army Headquarters Camp at Bootawallah with no delay. It arrived there about 6p.m. on 21 January and joined Sir Robert Dick's Division the next day
