On 17 Feb 1843, England. War Office, for distinguished conduct, awarded the Regiment the device of the Dragon and the word 'China' on its colours

On 20 Feb 1843, Australia, Parramatta. Regiment Headquarters arrived

On 10 Mar 1843, India, Calcutta. Over the next ten days the 49th moved here in detachments, ready to sail for England

During Apr 1843, Scotland, Edinburgh. Regiment moved here and deployed a company to Fort George and another to Airdrie

During May 1843, India, River Ganges. The Regiment's Colours were recovered from the river, badly damaged and unserviceable
